Western Vacations, in association with the Anaheim Orange County Visitor and Convention Bureau, is hosting an agent fam to Anaheim. The trip, escorted by Western Vacations’ BC Business Development Manager Tracy Poole, is from June 6-9 and will include visits to Disneyland, Universal Studios, Medieval Times and the Pirate’s Dinner Adventure. The cost is $299 p.p., twin share, and includes airfare from Vancouver to Los Angeles, transfers, hotel accommodation, most meals, Anaheim area hotel inspections and all taxes. Cambodia, Vietnam

ChinaPac International has a 16-day fam trip to Cambodia and rural Vietnam that visits the likes of Siem Reap, Phnom Penh, Ho Chi Minh City, Hue, Hanoi and Halong Bay. Participants will see temple ruins in Cambodian jungle and learn about the country’s tragic past under Khmer Rouge rule. They will also experience “the extraordinary culture of Vietnam” and see its “amazing cities and landmarks.” The trip leaves Nov. 14 and costs $2,299. There’s a single supplement of $949. Tour East Holidays has a Sept. 16-28 India fam trip that will visit Old and New Delhi, the Taj Mahal, ancient forts, Jaipur, known as the Pink City, Udaipur, the city of lakes, and city markets. Ireland

Tourism Ireland and Insight Vacations are hosting a Nov. 8-13 fam to the Emerald Isle. The land-only cost is $400 p.p., twin share, and will include sightseeing and five breakfasts and five dinners. Accommodation includes Dromoland Castle. Agents can earn back the full cost of the fam by booking 10 Insight passengers in the following year. Tunisia

  • Nov. 1-11

NĀRAT, in association with The Canadian Institute of Travel Counsellors and the Association of Canadian Travel Agencies, is hosting an agent fam to Tunisia from Nov. 1-11. The trip, which will be escorted by NĀRAT’s CEO, Thanushka Nanayakkara, will include visits to Tunis, Gammarth, Carthage, Sidi Bou Said, Sbeitla, Tozeur Oasis, Tamerza, Douz and the Sahara Desert, Matmata, Jerba Island, Tataouine, El Djem and Sousse. The trip is open to all members of the travel industry, however owners and individuals in managerial positions, as well as qualified CTCs and CTMs, will have priority acceptance. The minimum prerequisite is two years of travel-selling experience. Participation is limited to one counsellor per agency location. No companions or spouses are allowed, and all participants will enjoy single accommodation. The cost is $1,458 for CITC and ACTA members and $1,488 for members of the travel industry at large. Taxes of $342 are additional. This includes return international airfare and taxes, transfers, comprehensive tours and entrance fees, luxury and deluxe class accommodation on a singles basis. Vietnam, Cambodia

CITC and NARAT have a travel agent fam to Vietnam and Cambodia from Oct. 5-16 that has been designed to take in the major attractions of both countries and the most popular itinerary for visitors in the region. Incorporating culture, cuisine and historical sites, highlights include visits to Ho Chi Minh Complex; Museum of Ethnology in Hanoi; water puppet show in Hanoi; Halong Bay; walking tour around the ancient town of Danang; cooking class at Red Bridge restaurant; Reunification Palace; Notre Dame Cathedral; Cai Be floating market; Mekong Delta; Siem Reap; Angkor Wat; Banteay Srei; Citadel of Women; and Tonle Sap Lake, Asia’s largest inland lake. Destinations such as these offer clients exotic and ancient cultures; beautiful art and architecture; natural beauty; great service; safety; and comfort, the CITC says. The cost of the fam is US$2,390, based on twin share, and includes international and domestic airfares. CITC members enjoy a $50 reduction from the fam cost. In addition, flight taxes of approximately $598 are applicable. A limited number of single supplements are available. An optional five-day fam to Myanmar is available for an additional cost.
