FITUR 2010 set to go

The 30th edition of the International Tourism Trade Fair, FITUR, gets underway this week in Madrid. The Jan. 20-24 event, organized by IFEMA, will include about 11,000 companies from approximately 170 countries or regions. These companies will be occupying 76,000 square metres of net exhibition space at the Feria de Madrid. This edition of FITUR will be attended for the first time by official representatives from countries such as Uganda, the Republic of Ghana, Kuwait, as well as territories such as Abu Dhabi.

Deadline approaching for TICO board submissions

The Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) is seeking feedback on the composition of its board of directors and is reminding travel industry personnel that the deadline for submissions is Jan. 15. Specifically, TICO is reviewing the industry representation on its board. The five directors appointed at pleasure by the Minister of Small Business and Consumer Services are not being considered as part of this review.
