Despite earlier reports that Cuba Cruise was closing its office in Canada, Celestyal Cruises said that it is actually enhancing its presence here and extending Cuba Cruise’s 2015-2016 season.

Commenting on the changes, Pythagoras Nagos, director of sales, Celestyal Cruises, said: “We are happy to announce that following the Cuba Cruise start-up phase, the brand is now fully owned by Celestyal Cruises. The venture has been restructured to create synergies and meet consumer demand for a product covering vacation needs all year round.”

Nagos continued, “From the best of the Aegean to the most hidden secrets of Cuba, Celestyal stands for authenticity in its destinations and in the experience it offers to its customers. As such, Cuba Cruise will now strengthen its positioning as the real and authentic Cuban Cruise experience offering the best of Cuba in seven days while enjoying authentic Cuban entertainment on board.”

Here in Canada, the brand’s new name will be Cuba Cruise by Celestyal Cruises and along with that change, the company has also extended its Cuba cruise season into April 2016, with the addition of three additional departure dates.

The Celestyal Cruises’ sales network in Canada will now market both the Cuba Cruise brand and Celestyal’s signature Aegean and Adriatic cruise experiences.

A number of new developments have also been confirmed for the 2015-2016 Cuba Cruise season, including a new itinerary that will feature two days in Havana and a new port of call – Maria La Gorda, well known for its snorkeling and scuba diving. Cruises will embark every Monday from Havana, and every Friday from Montego Bay, beginning Dec. 18 through April 11, 2016.

Nagos observed, “For the last two years, we have experienced a rising popularity in our Cuba Cruise brand and positive feedback from both our passengers and partners. We are excited to announce the next phase of growth by welcoming a new team of colleagues in Canada, who share our philosophy of creating and marketing unique cruise products worldwide.”

Cuba Cruise by Celestyal expects to name a vice-president of sales and marketing for Canada soon. Currently, its Canadian team includes Holly Varey, manager of tour operator and special interest accounts; Dean de St. Croix, digital marketing manager; Julia Freeman, group account executive; as well as additional administrative support.
