Air Canada Takes Off To Iceland

Air Canada has launched service to its newest international destination, with Air Canada Rouge operating flights from Toronto to Reykjavik, Iceland.

The new, non-stop service will operate this summer four days a week from Toronto and three days a week from Montreal.

Benjamin Smith, president, passenger airlines, Air Canada, said: “Iceland’s rugged beauty and intriguing cultural attractions are making it a prime destination for travellers seeking new adventures and Air Canada is pleased to be the only Canadian airline and only Star Alliance carrier in North America to serve the island, providing convenient connections across Canada and the U.S.A.”

Smith added: “Iceland is the latest addition to our expanding international network as these new services from Toronto and Montreal are two of 11 new routes being launched this summer.”

Already this summer Air Canada has begun new services from Vancouver to Frankfurt, Nagoya, Taipei and London-Gatwick, from Toronto to Berlin, and from Montreal to Marseille.

Other new routes beginning soon include Toronto to Mumbai (July 1) and Montreal to Tel Aviv (June 22) and Algiers (July 1).
