Best Of Both Worlds

Kissimmee, Florida, is proud to have some entertainment industry giants close to its doorstep.
Denise Graham, Canadian representative for Experience Kissimmee Florida, says those staying in her central Florida city may actually find themselves closer to Walt Disney World than those staying in better-known Orlando.

“A lot of our properties are closer to Walt Disney World,” she said during a Thursday Toronto gathering.
But Graham added that much of Kissimmee’s appeal lies in its own boundaries and that proximity to central Florida theme parks is far from its only drawing card.

“Kissimmee has so much to offer in its own backyard,” she said, citing the likes of hot-air ballooning, zip-lines and tree-trekking found within or close to city perimeters.

“We have the best of both worlds,” D.T. Minich, president of Experience Kissimmee, in turn told the gathering. “We’re the gateway to the theme parks.”

But Minich noted that Kissimmee’s proximity to Florida’s Everglades means it has “some of the best attractions Mother Nature has made.”

Meanwhile, Graham said lodging options in Kissimmee include thousands of rental home units, with some of those homes having up to 14 bedrooms, making them attractive to “multi-generational families” vacationing together.

Those large homes will look attractive to a multi-generational family that doesn’t want to “take five hotel rooms” while on holiday together, she continued.
