Celestyal On Course In Canada

Celestyal Cruises has another major tour operator offering its Cuba itineraries, further welcome news for a company that believes it’s making major inroads in Canada and elsewhere, reports Ian Stalker in this week’s digital edition of Travel Courier.

Air Canada Vacations announced in late September that it will offer Celestyal’s week-long Cuba sailings that circumvent Cuba, with calls that include ones in Havana, Cienfuegos, Santiago de Cuba, and the Isle of Youth and also visit Montego Bay, Jamaica as well.

ACV clients will actually be boarding and disembarking in Montego Bay.

Transat also offers the sailings, while Cuba specialist Hola Sun also features them in conjunction with its land programs.

Several other tour operators offer the Cuba sailings as well.

Air Canada Vacations’ decision comes after Celestyal announced earlier this year that its sailings would become year-round, a development that it says reflects growing interest in the itineraries.

“We’re expecting a great season,” says Christine Chiang, Celestyal’s VP of sales and marketing for Canada. “We’ve got a fabulous product, a great cruise ship, a fabulous itinerary and great entertainment.”
