Expedia Opens Cuba Hotel Market To Canadians

The Expedia group reports that travellers in Canada and around the globe can now book hotels in Cuba on its global points of sale, including Expedia.ca, Hotels.com, Travelocity, Orbitz and CheapTickets.

From the historic streets of Havana and Hemingway’s homestead in San Francisco de Paula, to the cobbled colonial town of Trinidad and beyond, Canadian travellers can leverage Expedia sites to research and book hotels throughout Cuba.

Cuba has long been a popular destination for Canadians, with nearly a million visitors annually, representing more than 40% of all visitors to the island. Ontarians and Quebecers continue to be major markets for travel to Cuba, with almost 90% of departures scheduled from cities in these two provinces.

“It is no secret that Canadians have adopted Cuba as a destination of choice for their vacations, where they can experience the charms of warm-hearted people, vibrant cities and amazing scenery. We are very pleased to accompany them in the planning of their trip by offering the possibility of booking their hotel online and facilitate their trip,” said David Debeule, area manager for Canada, Expedia group. “The largest Caribbean island offers exquisite white sand beaches and fascinating history, nestled in the heart of a beautiful nature; now it is up to visitors to find the best experience for their need through Expedia.ca.”
