Government Hosting Travel Industry Act Sessions

TICO is reminding industry members that the Ontario Government will conduct a comprehensive review of the Travel Industry Act, 2002 and Ontario Regulation 26/05 which regulates approximately 2,400 Ontario retail travel agencies and travel wholesalers (tour operators).

The Ontario Government will be holding public consultation sessions throughout Ontario to obtain feedback from all stakeholders.

“TICO encourages all stakeholders to participate in the Ontario Government’s comprehensive review and attend a public consultation session. This is a great opportunity to contribute and provide feedback towards modernizing the consumer protection legislation, strengthen consumer protection and reduce burden on business,” said TICO president Richard Smart.

(250 Yonge St.) 9 a.m. to noon; Toronto, Feb. 22, Ontario Investment & Trade Ctr., 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.; London, Feb. 23, London Convention Centre, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.; Thunder Bay, Feb. 28, Valhalla Inn, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.; Ottawa, March 3, Ottawa Conference & Event Centre, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.; Sudbury, March 6, Parkside Centre, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.; Markham, March 9, Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
