Merit Partners With WaterAid Canada

The Merit Travel Group is continuing its support of WaterAid Canada and their efforts to bring clean water to select communities lacking access.

The second annual campaign is aimed at raising awareness in support of their project in Tanzania. Through a three-month fundraising initiative, which commences this month, the goal is to help improve water and sanitation at health clinics in this East African country.

The decision to support the Tanzania: Deliver Life Program follows a successful 2016 effort, which saw more than $100,000 raised for Ethiopia’s Clean Water for Schools project. The funding enabled the WaterAid team, and local residents, to install toilets and provide clean running water in eight schools in Ethiopia.

“It’s easy to see how WaterAid Canada is comprised of a passionate team, dedicated to solving a big problem with simple solutions,” said Louise de Grandpré, chief operating officer, Merit Travel Group. “We enjoyed our experience last year, and were extremely happy with our contribution. Once again, we are dedicated to being an extension of their team, joining together and being part of the solution.”

This year, campaign efforts will support WaterAid’s Tanzania: Deliver Life Program, which seeks to improve water and sanitation conditions at 12 rural health clinics. Merit Travel Group will not only launch a number of company-wide fundraising activities, but is also committed to donating a percentage of revenue during the campaign period.
