The Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) has added a St. Catharines date to its list of Open Forum sessions it is holding this month and next to share information and obtain feedback on the comprehensive review of the Travel Industry Act, 2002 and Ontario Regulation 26/05.

The goal of the Ontario government’s review of the Act is to increase regulatory efficiency; improve consumer protection; and reduce regulatory burden on business.

These sessions are an opportunity for TICO members to receive valuable information, ask questions, provide feedback and network with their peers.

TICO will also present information on the all-in-pricing requirement that came into force Jan. 1 and will review the consultation process.

As well, TICO will present a number of priority issues and welcome feedback from attendees on areas such as registration, financial requirements, the Compensation Fund, e-Commerce and education standards and more.

The sessions are free of charge and all Ontario travel agency owners and travel agents are welcome to attend.

Upcoming sessions include: Jan. 17, St. Catharines, Holiday Inn Hotel & Suite, 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.; Jan. 24, Toronto/Mississauga, TICO Offices, 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Jan, 26, London, Delta London Armouries, 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.; Feb. 8, Cambridge/Kitchener, Four Points by Sheraton, 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP to TICO at [email protected] no later than Jan. 16. Space is limited.
