Visit Florida along with more than a dozen of its partners were in Toronto earlier this week to update the Canadian travel trade on all that’s going on in the Sunshine State this winter.

In fact, Summer Gonzalez of Visit Florida offered Canadian vacationers a warm welcome.

“We’re opening our arms to share the warmth with Canadians,” Gonzalez said, after reminding her audience that winter was fast approaching and Florida was more than happy to offer a warm respite from the cold, snow, heavy coats and boots and all of the other annoyances of that season.

On hand to update trade types on their destinations and products were representatives from the Florida Keys & Key West; Visit Orlando; Florida’s Paradise Coast (Naples, Marco Island & the Everglades); Hawks Cay Resort; Fort Myers & Sanibel; Greater Fort Lauderdale; Visit Jacksonville; Haworth which represents Amelia Island, Epicurean Hotel, Waterline Marina Resort & Beach Club, Inn on Fifth and TradeWinds Island Resorts; Daytona Beach Area CVB, St. Augustine Ponte Vedra, Benchmark Hospitality/Gemstone Hotel Collection, Visit Tampa Bay and Experience Kissimmee.

In 2015, Florida welcomed 3.8 million Canadians, making it the state’s top international destination once again.
