NORTH: SUKHOTHAI

Sukhothai was the first capital of the Kingdom (1238-1438) and is considered the birthplace of Thai art, architecture, and language.  Visitors can discover the grandeur of the past by exploring the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Sukhothai Historical Park which contains some of the finest historical ruins in the country.
