World Choir Games in Flanders | |||||

At the end of October, the World Choir Games will take place in Flanders. The World Choir Games are the largest singing event in the world and will welcome more than 300 choirs from all over the world.
The ‘Olympics for choirs’ lasts one week and will take place in the host cities of Antwerp and Ghent from October 30 to November 7, 2021. During that week 457 singing events are planned, both live and digital. These include real competition contests but also friendship concerts, gala concerts, ceremonies, and workshops. |

Parlamentarium celebrates its 10 year anniversary | |||||

In October, the European Parliament’s Visitors’ Centre will celebrate its 10th anniversary. The Parlamentarium has welcomed over 2.5 million visitors since it opened. Its mission is to explain the EU Parliament’s key role in European democracy and to take visitors on a journey through European integration. To mark this occasion, the Parlamentarium has added two new media stations featuring key topics on Parliament’s agenda. These include climate change, digital transition and the Conference on the Future of Europe.
Visits to the Parlamentarium are free and available in 24 languages. |

New WWII museum Liberation Garden | |||||

The new WWII museum Liberation Garden will open in the fall of 2022. The Chinese Pavilion, a striking military building from the 19th century, will be transformed into a real experience museum. The pavilion will also be extended with a new building that architecturally fits with the unique military heritage of the Leopold area.
Liberation Garden will be an impressive experience museum. Visitors will be immersed in the turbulent history of WWII. Through a combination of history, virtual reality, multimedia installations and personal, gripping stories, visitors will literally and figuratively come into contact with history. Historian Dr. Peter Schrijvers: “The experience is compelling, exciting and often moving, but never non-committal.” |
