Before they board, while they fly, and after they deplane, your passengers can rest assured that Qatar Airways is taking all the necessary measures to ensure the utmost in cabin cleanliness. This involves a continuous and rigorous review of our processes, training our staff with the latest hygiene protocols and cleaning procedures, and supplying them with cleaning products recommended by IATA and WHO.
A few of the steps we are taking to ensure safety on-board:

Personal Protective Equipment: All of our cabin crew will now wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) suits in addition to masks, protective glasses and gloves.

Face Mask & Shield: We require passengers to wear a face mask and shield at all times, from boarding to disembarkation at their destination. Face shields will be distributed at check in at Hamad International Airport, or at the boarding gate.
|
|
|
|
|
Protective Kits: Protective kits containing a face mask, gloves and hand sanitizer gel will be distributed to all passengers on board.
|
|
|
|
|
Air Filtration: The majority of our aircraft are equipped with the most advanced air filtration systems in the market. Fitted with industrial-size HEPA filters, these systems remove 99.97% of viral and bacterial contaminants from re-circulated air throughout the entire flight.

|
|
|
|
Linen and Blankets: With comfort and safety in mind, our linen and blankets are washed and dried at 90 degrees centigrade, then pressed using a 100-degree centigrade iron. Before being placed onboard, they are handled with gloves and sealed into individual packaging.
|
|
|
|
|
Meal Service Equipment: All meal service utensils and cutlery are washed with detergents and rinsed with demineralized water at temperatures that kill pathogenic bacteria. The sanitized equipment is then handled with gloves and cutlery is individually re-packaged before it arrives on to the aircraft.

Our state-of-the-art hub, Hamad International Airport, undergoes continuous and thorough sanitation to ensure every corner of the facility is of the utmost cleanliness. All surfaces are wiped with IATA and WHO recommended sanitization products on an hourly basis.
Our airport staff are trained to ensure proper social distancing practices are maintained at all times for passengers throughout the check-in, customs clearance, and boarding processes, as well as when dining and lounging in the airport terminal.
Some of the steps we are taking to ensure safety in-transit:

Airport Screening: All arrivals at Hamad International Airport are thermally screened to identify passengers with symptoms of COVID-19.
|
|
|
|
|
Hygienic Lounges: We maintain the highest levels of cleaning across lounges, with surfaces in washrooms, elevators, and other high-use areas cleaned continuously. We have replaced buffets with single-serve prepared meals and disposable cutlery in select lounges across our network.

|
|
|
Hand Sanitizer: Our lounges have hand sanitizer readily available at the reception desk for passengers’ use.
