The Return of the Seller-Seated Shopping Session AND Happy Hour

A big change to this year’s Rendez-vous is the return of the RVC Shopping Session. Following the afternoon appointments on Day 1, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., Sellers will remain seated, giving buyers the opportunity to walk the floor. This is a great opportunity for Buyers and Sellers who did not have appointments to connect with one another, or continue a conversation from an earlier appointment.

These open sessions will take place at the same time as the TIAC Member Appreciation Happy Hour, at the TIAC Appointment Booth and Lounge.

TIAC Member Sellers will have a great opportunity to connect with fellow members over refreshments, including beer, wine, and soft drinks. You’ll receive two drink tickets, redeemable at any of the three bars in the area:
  • Two located near the TIAC Members Wellness Zone
  • One located near the TIAC Appointment Booth
We encourage you to share your tickets with a buyer or media delegate so that you may socialize before the free evening begins.

TIAC looks forward to raising a glass with you!

Getting Around During RVC

Finding your way around a new city can be challenging but we’ve made it easy for you!

Our amazing hosts at Travel Manitoba and Tourism Winnipeg are providing shuttle service from the Winnipeg International Airport (YWG) on Monday, May 26, and Tuesday, May 27, to the host hotels. Upon your arrival, look for RVC representatives and friendly local volunteers who will help direct you to the shuttles for the quick and easy ride to downtown Winnipeg and the RVC host hotels. Shuttle bus service from the host hotels to the airport will also be provided at the end of the week.

Throughout the event, shuttles will run from Rendez-vous Canada’s official hotels to the RBC Convention Centre, aligned with the marketplace hours.

In the name of sustainability and for those who enjoy a bit of fresh air before a busy day of meetings, our hosts will have volunteers available for walking tours from each hotel to the convention centre in time for the marketplace appointments!

For the evening events, shuttle services will run from the hotels to the RVC Welcome Reception on Tuesday, May 27, and the Host Night on Thursday, May 29.

All the information relating to RVC shuttles and walking tours, including schedules, can be found on the official RVC website. The details will also be included in the RVC mobile app, available May 14.

Attention Sellers and Media: Get RVC-Ready with Destination Canada’s Inside Track

Destination Canada’s Inside Track provides Sellers and Media with timely updates and insights on Canada’s key international markets to help prepare for appointments.

Join us on Tuesday, May 27, from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for a full-group, 30-minute plenary followed by three 35-minute breakout sessions, one for each region—Asia, Europe & Australia, and U.S. & Mexico.

In the plenary, Destination Canada’s Senior Vice-President of Market Strategy and Chief Marketing Officer, Gloria Loree will share updates on Destination Canada’s marketing strategy and our team will present the new audience segmentation program. This year, the Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada (ITAC) will also join the plenary to share more about their role in the industry, the Original Original designation for export readiness, and tips on incorporating Indigenous products into your offerings.

Breakout sessions will provide market-by-market overviews of the latest insights, trends, and strategies. The aim is for you to leave empowered and inspired to sell Canada, and meet Buyers knowing their specific market needs. The sessions will run concurrently and will be repeated three times, allowing you to rotate between all three if you wish.

Destination Canada has also developed two-page overviews of each market providing specific data and insights into the market and their key travellers. These will be shared on the RVC website soon. Watch this space for an update when they’re ready.
