TICO Conviction
Dat Phuc Ngo, o/a Sky Asia Travel, has plead guilty to one count of failing to keep customer funds in the trust account, contrary to the Travel Industry Act.
Ngo has been convicted and received the following sentence: 45 days of incarceration served intermittently; Probation Order for two years with the condition (in addition to the statutory conditions outlined in section 72 of the Provincial Offences Act, 1990) that Ngo is not to be employed in the travel industry in any capacity.
The Ontario Travel Industry Compensation Fund paid claims in excess of $170,000 in relation to the closure of Sky Asia Travel in January 2014.
