Hukilau Marketplace Wraps Up Five-Year Remake at PCC

HAWAII-Polynesian-CC-Oct7

The Hukilau Marketplace is one of the last major projects being completed at the Polynesian Cultural Centre on Oahu, as part of $100 million spent on facility and experiential improvements over the past five years.

Other recent improvements of note include a rejuvenated Hawaii Village with a design inspired by ancient land division traditions, plus the features in the village like new activities, architecture and exhibits of native Hawaiian culture.

“Hawaiian Journey” is a new cinematic experience housed in a theatre built to resemble a volcano and shown on a high-definition projection system with the largest screen in Hawaii. Also new is the renovated Aotearoa Village, featuring intricate carvings in the Totara timber of New Zealand honouring an ancient Polynesian navigator.
