A New Concept From Globus

While Canadians usually opt for an escorted tour because of the convenience, the fun and knowledgeable tour director, a perfectly-planned itinerary and value for money, Not everyone wants to travel with strangers.

Well, Globus has the answer with its new concept of private touring.

Kim Clarke, director of sales for the Globus family of brands in Canada, explains: “Aimed at groups of up to 24 — or even just a solo traveller — these tours offer your clients the same advantages as one of our escorted tours. Except we make it private, just for them.”

The private tours, already offered for this year and available in 2019, are from Globus’ portfolio of 88 European tours (Escapes by Globus are not included), lasting from seven to 25 nights’ duration.

And the fact that they are offered on the same departure dates and with exactly the same inclusions as Globus’ published tours makes the concept very easy to explain to clients, Clarke adds.

All clients will receive a private vehicle, the services of a tour director as well as local guides, accommodation in usually the same hotels and the opportunity to book optional additional excursions ahead of time of while they are on tour.

Transportation ranges from a private car for when there are one or two travellers up to a mini-coach for up to 24 passengers. Free WiFi will be available in all vehicles.

Pricing is based on the regular tour price (commissionable at an agency’s usual Globus family of brands rate) plus a Private Touring supplement (commissionable at 10%) which decreases with the number of travellers. For example, on the Bonnie Scotland itinerary, a couple would pay a surcharge of $4,804 while travellers in a group of 24 would pay a $188 supplement.

Of particular interest to clients looking for a multi-generational experience, there is no age restriction. Infants travel free, those 2 to 7 years receive a 25% discount off the base tour price, and those 8 to 17 years receive a 10% discount.

Said Clarke: “These are also a great idea for incentives and reunions. Imagine the fun and convenience of your own vehicle, driver and tour director.  All you have to do is sit back, relax and enjoy being ‘chauffeured’ around Europe.”
