ACV to collect data for Secure Flight Program

Air Canada Vacations’ (ACV) travellers will now be required to supply both gender and date of birth for secure flight data collection at least 72 hours prior to departure. In addition to collecting and forwarding the following information to the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA)’s Secure Flight Program when travelling to, from, or via the US, Air Canada, along with other airlines, are now required to collect this information for over-flights: Full name as it appears on passport (mandatory); Date of birth (mandatory); Gender (mandatory); Redress Number – a unique number obtained from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for passengers that share the same name as someone on the US watch list (optional). This data will be collected at time of booking through ACV’s Reservations or via their web site. The data collection will apply to over-flights that transit both the US airspace and the 12 nautical miles around their coasts and will additionally be collected for all Air Canada Vacations’ flights.
