Agents learn how to earn at ASTA event

Travel agents attending ASTA’s sixth annual Travel Retailing & Destination Expo (ASTA-LA) in Los Angeles (Los Angeles, Sept. 7-9) found it jam-packed with high-level networking opportunities and targeted education that focussed on both leisure and corporate segments. New features at this year’s show included in-depth destination training and tours, Microsoft-certified education, and industry thought-leader sessions that armed attendees with advanced tools they’ll be able to use to plan for, run and promote their business when they return home. Nina Meyer, ASTA president and chair, said: “To further improve upon the event this year, we took feedback from last year’s show, along with best practices from other travel events to build a better meeting — one that would inspire agents to explore new lines of business and provide innovative ideas for tackling the many challenges our industry presents. The result is an event that attracted top agents from every sector — from traditional storefront agencies and home-based agents to OTAs and large TMCs — as well as members of all the leading consortia. It was the ideal forum for the industryÆs highest profile members to expand their education and diversify their partners.” For more, go to http://www.THETRADESHOW.org .
