A resurgence of the Arabic Golden Age will emerge at Shangri-La Hotel, Vancouver this holiday season. The “1,001 Nights at Shangri-La” encourages guests to savour Arabian flavours and enjoy live music in Xi Shi Lounge. For instance, the lounge’s popular afternoon tea will get a dose of Middle Eastern/Turkish flavours, available daily 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for $38 p.p. Entertainment will include Tarab, a Vancouver-based Middle Eastern jazz-fusion band that brings modern interpretations to traditional Middle Eastern songs on Thursday evenings. 1,001 Nights runs through Jan. 5, 2014.
