Avianca Takes Off With Toronto-Bogota Flights

Avianca is now flying Toronto-Bogota route, offering close to 4,000 weekly seats and three weekly frequencies.

Rolando Damas, Avianca’s general director for North America, the Caribbean, and Asia, said: “We are expanding our network to offer our clients point-to-point connection. We want our Canadian clients to have the best travel experience at competitive prices, to explore Latin America through one of the largest networks in the region.”

Flavia Santoro, president of ProColombia, the government agency in charge of promoting tourism in Colombia, commented: “We celebrate the launch of this new route with the Canadian market. It is an important step towards the recovery of our tourism industry. This direct flight with Toronto, also opens a door for new business opportunities that will allow us to keep positioning Colombia as a strategic trade ally for Canada.”

Avianca has set the goal of inaugurating 50 new routes in three years — from 2021 to 2023 — and launching 200 point-to-point routes in operation by 2025.

In 2021, it launched 16 new routes and increasing the number of flights to operate during the December season by 30%.
