Baxter Media Raises a Glass to CATO at summer gathering

CATO members received some heartfelt appreciation from Baxter Media and their executive-director alike Thursday evening.
Baxter Media hosted the association’s chairman, Brett Walker, executive-director, Jean Hebert and representatives of some the association’s member tour operators at Baxter Media’s Toronto office last night, with Baxter Media president, David McClung using the occasion to remind those on hand of both the company’s long history in the travel industry and support for that industry.
“The legacy of the travel media in Canada is in that back room,” he said, referring to bound issues of company publications kept in the office that underscore Baxter Media’s long history.

Company executive editor, Bob Mowat in turn pointed to Baxter Media’s many methods of delivering news to the industry.
Baxter Media has weekly publications Canadian Travel Press and Travel Courier and the daily Travel Press Today online news.
The company is also upbeat about its innovative, upcoming TravelPress Live, which it states will be a “new immersive trade event for the travel industry that goes beyond the regular travel show.”

Baxter Media’s Vicki Zeppa enthusiastically told the gathering that TravelPress Live is “going to be like nothing you’ve ever experienced.”
Hebert thanked Baxter Media for hosting him and his CATO colleagues, stating, “It was very kind of you.”
Hebert also told those on hand that it’s important that those belonging to CATO be actively involved in it.

“We’re as strong as you allow us to be,” he stated.
Collette’s Brett Walker, who is CATO’s chairman, in turn praised CATO members for their efforts on behalf of the association.
“I can always say that I have great support,” said Walker, adding he’s “proud of our team.”
