Ready To Go

“We know that competition for tourism will be ferocious coming out of this pandemic,” Destination Canada’s Maureen Riley observes, but she makes it clear that “the foundation we are currently setting means we will be ready once restrictions are lifted. Tourism businesses have made huge investments in new health and hygiene protocols and they are ready to welcome back visitors.”

This week, Rendez-vous Canada + is underway virtually, welcoming buyers from around the world to meet with representatives from destinations and suppliers of Canadian tourism product and services.

Destination Canada’s Riley explains that: “Over the past 45 years, Rendez-vous Canada (RVC) has developed a reputation as Canada’s premier marketplace for the tourism industry, and for the first time the event is going virtual as Rendez-vous Canada+ (RVC+).”

Riley continues: “While we wish we could be seeing one another in person, this new virtual format makes sure Canada stays top of mind within our key international markets, and reinforces that Canada is a top travel destination when restrictions ease.”

And she points out that: “RVC+ is a shift in thinking about the potential of RVC. This new format allows us to evolve our signature event to new platforms, reaching new audiences and more members of the industry.”
