Air Canada has announced the retirement of Lucie Guillemette, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer.
Guillemette, who is responsible for the airline's commercial strategies, will retire at the end of April 2023, ending a highly successful career touching five decades at Canada's flag carrier.

The air travel recovery continued in November with IATA reporting that total traffic in November 2022 (measured in revenue passenger kilometers or RPKs) rose 41.3% compared to November 2021. Globally, traffic is now at 75.3% of November 2019 levels.

The carrier reports that on Jan. 6, 2023 -- in light of the government advisory for Mazatlán and out of an abundance of caution to ensure the safety of all Sunwing passengers and crew -- Sunwing had temporarily cancelled all southbound departures to Mazatlán, Mexico, affecting departures from Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, Kelowna and Vancouver airports.
