Celebrating Responsibility

The annual Responsible Travel & Tourism Forum (RTTF) Awards luncheon was held in Toronto yesterday at the Eaton Chelsea Hotel. About 50 travel trade types were on hand for the event which celebrated the completion of another successful series of webinars on Responsible Travel.

In 2013, the webinar series featured sessions on What You Need To Know About Certification Programs; Fair to All — Ensuring a Sustainable Future for Local People and Animals; Gaining an Edge by Finding an Sustainable Niche; Maximum Satisfaction: How Do Green Policies = Satisfied Clients?; Manage the Risk: Travel and Security; and Access, Disability and Tourism.

The event also took time to thank RTTF’s 2014 sponsors — The Ted Rogers School of Tourism & Hospitality Management at Ryerson University; the Eaton Chelsea Hotel in Toronto; and Air Canada.

And those on hand also had a chance to celebrate with the winners of the 2013-2014 RTTF awards.

Scott Fuller was the winner of this year’s Student Award. The Student Award — of a $250 honorarium — is presented to a student at Ted Rogers School of Management Ryerson University who is going into their second, third or fourth year in a hospitality and tourism program.

Canadian Mountain Holidays (CMH) was the winner of the 2013-2014 RTTF Leadership Award, which features a major prize contributed by Air Canada.
