For nine years, she has been a driving force in contemporizing the 68-year old Best Western brand. During her tenure, Best Western introduced its Descriptor Program, which established three distinct hotel types and more than quadrupled enrolments for the brand’s loyalty program; enhanced Best Western’s strategic partnerships with travel brands like AAA and Trip Advisor, while pushing the envelope in digital strategy through cultivating new relationships with technology leaders such as Facebook and Google.

Commenting on the word, Dowling said: “I’ve always tried to view the world through the customers’ lens, and I’m honoured to be recognized with an outstanding group of women innovators who are helping shape the future of marketing.”

And she continued: “I’ve had good fortune and wonderful mentors who, along with a lot of hard work, contributed greatly to my success. Relationships are the currency of life, and I believe we always have to be students of the game, learning from our customers and partners to ensure our thinking is on track and responsive to the voice of the customer.”
