Cunard has announced plans for a major redesign of the Kings Court dining venue onboard flagship Queen Mary 2.

During QM2’s extensive refit from May 27 to June 21, 2016, Kings Court will be completely transformed with “a more open, intuitive central buffet area and reconfigured seating arrangements to create a relaxed self-service experience with a refined yet informal ambiance.”

Enhancements are planned to both the service and culinary offer in Kings Court with the newly refreshed venue featuring new menus, the convenience of pre-set tables and waiter-served drinks.
Cunard chefs will take centre stage in the re-imagined Kings Court as they guide guests through cooking demonstrations that highlight the remastered menus and the fresh, high quality ingredients used onboard. Kings Court will offer informal dining options throughout the day – from enticing hot and cold buffet options to light snacks, afternoon treats and alternative evening dining cuisines such as Indian, Italian, Pan Asian and Tex Mex.

The popular Chef’s Galley area, serving Italian pastas and pizzas for lunch, will also offer a Chef’s Table tasting menu on select evenings. Hosted by the Executive Chef, the Chef’s Table will offer guests the opportunity to hear insights and recipe tips while enjoying a tasting menu expertly paired with fine wines.

“We have been working for 18 months with our guests, galley teams and designers to create a new informal dining experience on all levels, with vastly improved flow, enhanced service and culinary options with a more relaxed atmosphere,” said Cunard’s Angus Struthers. “The new Kings Court will be one of the most significant new developments on board the remastered Queen Mary 2.”
