DIANA, A CELEBRATION IN ITS FINAL WEEKS AT WEM

The award-winning exhibition Diana, A Celebration is in its final weeks at West Edmonton Mall and, when its four-month run ends on June 9, it will mark the exhibition’s final visit to Canada. No other Canadian stop is planned before the exhibition’s 10-year global tour concludes in the summer of 2014. On loan from Althorp Estate, the Spencer family’s 500-year-old ancestral home in England, Diana, A Celebration chronicles the life and work of Diana, Princess of Wales. The exhibition, which opened at West Edmonton Mall in February, contains 150 objects throughout nine galleries, ranging from Princess Diana’s royal wedding gown and 28 of her designer dresses to family heirlooms, jewellery, personal mementos, items representing her abundant charity work, paintings, and rare home movies and photos. The collection of Diana’s personal items invites visitors to share the milestones of her many roles: as a youngster, schoolgirl and athlete; as the shy kindergarten teacher who captured the heart of the prince and the public; as the young, ravishing royal bride; as the devoted mother, sister and daughter; and as the tireless charity advocate and spokeswoman.
