Discover the World with Azamara Cruises in 2028

Azamara Cruises has announced details of its 2028 World Cruise aboard Azamara Onward. The 175-night itinerary spans six continents, 40 countries, and 91 ports, featuring more late nights, overnights, and countries visited than any other 2028 world cruise, and is further enhanced by the support of Azamara’s new World Cruise Desk, a pre-cruise concierge for guests and travel partners.
Dondra Ritzenthaler, CEO of Azamara Cruises, said that: “Our 2028 World Cruise represents Azamara’s most culturally immersive journey yet. We are so proud to offer an experience that delivers more opportunities for extended exploration than any other 2028 world cruise — from additional late nights and overnights to an unmatched number of countries visited.”
Ritzenthaler continued: “As guests traverse oceans and continents, they’ll experience a remarkable sense of connection to each destination, to the people they encounter, and to our warm, welcoming crew. That’s the spirit of Azamara; inviting travelers to explore the world deeply, while always feeling perfectly at home.”
Departing Miami on January 5, 2028, Azamara Onward sets off on a global journey with first stops in the Southern Caribbean and Latin America, calling on Aruba and Colombia before a Panama Canal transit and visits to Ecuador and Peru.
Guests will have the rare opportunity to visit Easter Island, Chile, and explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Rapa Nui National Park, as well as Pitcairn Island — a true bucket-list destination home to fewer than 50 residents. After crossing the Pacific, guests enjoy an overnight in Tahiti and Bora Bora before venturing on to New Zealand and Australia, including stops in Christchurch, Sydney, and Cairns.
The cruise continues through Asia with immersive calls in Indonesia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore, then sails across the Indian Ocean to Sri Lanka. In southern Africa, guests visit South Africa and Namibia before continuing north to the Canary Islands. The cruise then carries on to Morocco, Barcelona, the French Riviera, and Italy, including Rome, the Amalfi Coast, and Sicily, before cruising through Croatia, the Greek Isles, and Turkey. The journey concludes on June 29, 2028, in Athens, Greece.
The 2028 World Cruise is divided into 14 thoughtfully designed segments, giving travellers the flexibility to experience the full 175-night journey, each with its own mix of marquee cities, lesser-known ports, and visits to more than 15 remarkable UNESCO World Heritage sites. Each segment will also feature its own slate of exclusive events, AzAmazing Evenings, and curated enrichment that reflect the cultures guests will experience — from regionally inspired entertainment and guest lecturers to special tastings and celebratory deck parties — all complimented by Azamara’s industry-leading schedule of late nights and overnights.
Throughout the 2028 World Cruise, Azamara will also offer a collection of one-of-a-kind overland experiences designed to bring guests even closer to some of the world’s most iconic sites. Planned and anticipated programs include multi-day journeys to destinations such as Beijing, the Great Wall, and Xi’an with the Terra Cotta Warriors; the temples of Siam Reap-Angkor Wat, Ta Phrom, and Angkor Thom; the Taj Mahal, Agra, and Delhi; Bhutan’s mountain monasteries; Sri Lanka’s ancient cities and wildlife reserves; African safari lodges in South Africa.
Additional overland options, including opportunities to reach can’t-miss landmarks like Machu Picchu and Marrakesh, will be announced as programming is finalized.
Guests who book the full 2028 World Cruise will also receive several premium inclusions valued at over $37,000 per stateroom to enhance their journey, including onboard credits for excursions and amenities, and unlimited basic Wi-Fi, and access to exclusive events. Additional benefits include unlimited wash-and-fold laundry, complimentary medical consultation, and pre-cruise offerings such as airfare, a one-night hotel stay, transfers, and luggage shipping reimbursement.
To further enhance the planning experience, Azamara is also introducing a dedicated World Cruise Desk. This specialized team will serve as a pre-cruise concierge for guests and travel partners. From the moment of booking through embarkation, the team provides personalized assistance with travel arrangements and special requests and can be reached at 888.858.5388.
