Discover Winter In Hong Kong

hong-kong-winter

The Hong Kong Tourist Board is asking the seasonal question: “Who loves winter?” And the answer, is that many people do.

The HKTB points to young adults who find romance in all the festivities; and families, especially those with children, who all love the fairytale atmosphere that the festive season brings. And it also notes that Hong Kong is a perfect destination for the winter traveller.

In fact, as the winter of 2015-2016 approaches, the HKTB has once again organized its WinterFest promotion, creating events and offering special packages designed especially to appeal to young adults and to families.

The 2015 WinterFest will include the “Sparkling BVLGARI Roman Holiday,” the “Hong Kong Pulse 3D Light Show” and the “Hong Kong Countdown Celebrations” as well as special seasonal programs offered by major attractions and shopping malls.

A highlight of this year’s WinterFest will be the “Sparkling BVLGARI Roman Holiday,” due to take place from Dec. 4, 2015 to Jan. 1, 2016.

This event is co-organized with the Italian luxury brand BVLGARI. Gracious Statue Square in Hong Kong’s Central will be transformed into a romantic Roman-style city via an innovative light-art installation in the shape of the brand?s trademark “Serpenti.”

And, of course, there will be glittering Christmas trees as well as booths offering traditional Italian treats such as candy and hot chocolate. Confetti will swirl in the winter air and the atmosphere will be magical. All the proceeds from this promotion will be donated to the charity Save the Children, giving this Christmas a special meaning.
On the other side of Hong Kong’s harbour, the Hong Kong Pulse 3D Light Show will take place from Dec. 9 to Dec. 28 and showcase Christmas as a fairytale time. The Hong Kong Cultural Centre and the Clock Tower will become a storybook of light, with “flipping pages” revealing magical surprises such as Christmas elves. And all of the Tsim Sha Tsui area will be decorated with Christmas lights to create wonderful memories for locals and visitors alike.

Both the BVLGARI and 3D events will be free.
