Emirates sets a course to fly above and beyond

Emirates clients who fly First or Business Class needn’t worry about packing their PJs.

Michael Roque, the Dubai-based carrier’s senior sales executive for Central and Western Canada, told a Tuesday Toronto gathering jointly hosted by the airline and Dubai tourism authorities, that pajamas will be provided for them, and they may find themselves standing next to other pajama-clad passengers in an airborne lounge available for those travelling in either of those classes.

Those passengers will also find “full sleeper seats.”

And those sort of offerings help the airline distinguish it from others, he said.

“Emirates isn’t just better than the industry standard,” he said. “We define it…Why should you choose between luxury and convenience when you can have both?”

First Class passengers can “have a shower at 40,000 feet,” with that feature available in a part of the plane dubbed The Spa.

Emirates clients can leave from either Montreal or Toronto any day of the week for Dubai, which Emirates labels a “gateway to the world,” with its network including points throughout the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

Roque told the gathering that limo pickup service is available for clients if they live within an 80-kilometer radius of both Montreal and Toronto.

Roque said that Emirates’ Premium Economy Class is better than the Business Classes offered by some other airlines.

Emirates uses the tagline Fly Better when promoting itself, prompting Roque to declare, “Once you fly better, it’s hard to fly any other way.”

Roque also said that Emirates is “making real moves on sustainability,” citing the likes of its investing in sustainable aviation fuel and reducing cabin waste.
