Emirates tees up with Merit Travel Group

Emirates airline and Merit Golf Vacations have teamed up to offer Canadians the ultimate customized golf experience packages to the links of Dubai. Available for travel effective Oct. 1, all packages offer six night’s hotel accommodation, five rounds of golf, daily breakfast and 24-hour on-ground support through leading travel management company Arabian Adventures, with cost ranging from $2,899 to $3,299. Customized duration packages are also available. Golfers can choose to stay and relax at a variety of hotels including The Address Dubai Mall or the Hilton Dubai Jumeirah Resort amongst others, before enjoying pre-booked tee times and private return transfers from one of the area’s exclusive greens. “We see an amazing opportunity to offer Dubai to Canadian golfers,”says Jeff Knuth, senior director, Merit Golf Vacations. “Since its emergence on the PGA golf scene a number of years ago, Dubai has matured as a golf destination and now boasts some of the world’s top courses.”For the “19th hole,”golfers can opt to enjoy a wide range of cultural activities that can be added on to their travel packages, such as desert safaris, sightseeing tours of the new and old city, a trip to the top of the Burj Khalifa, and gold souk and spice market tours amongst others. “The program is being offered as a way to introduce Emirates passengers to golf in Dubai — a world-class destination with outstanding courses that should be on every golfer’s bucket list,”said Don McWilliam, manager Canada, Emirates airline. We wanted to extend this world-class experience to our Canadian customers beyond our aircraft, and on to the golf courses of Dubai.”The Merit golf packages are available to all Emirates passengers and combinable with all fares, and are not restricted to any specific class of travel.
