Flight Centre and Friends Celebrate

Flight Centre Canada held its inaugural “Last Person Standing” lunch for trade partners on Dec. 18 at the Jass Bistro in Toronto.

The event was a “sell out” with maximum capacity of 150 reached weeks before the event. The event is held bi-annually as a thank you to partners with the next lunch scheduled to be held on June 24, 2016.

This was the first “Last Person Standing” event held in Canada following a concept that started in Perth, Australia in 2004 and has spread to many parts of the Flight Centre world. In typical Flight Centre fashion, there is a competition for the last remaining trade partner at the lunch.

The competition was taken seriously by the Canadian industry, so much so that a playoff is needed to determine the inaugural winner at the second iteration of the lunch on June 24. When the Friday lunch finished at 2:23 a.m. on Saturday, the following five people could not be split – Mike Sanderson from Manulife, Michelle Martinson from Aero Mexico, Ivan Vukov from Aero Mexico, Jenni Berg from Contiki and Shane Copeland from Collette.
