Flight Centre Creates Cruise Specialist Team

With demand in cruise inquiries and bookings growing significantly, Flight Centre Travel Group has created a dedicated Cruise specialist team and launched a new marketing campaign.

The group’s cruise specialist team has a combined four decades of extensive cruise-specific experience, and includes a former cruise ship employee as one of its members.

Brian McLaren, EVP Flight Centre Canada, said that: “The demand for cruise travel is clear and definitive. Our dedicated cruise specialist team’s focus is to bring better value and expertise, along with a more robust customer experience for our clients.”

The timing of the team’s formation was purposeful with ‘Wave Season’ in full swing now through mid-March, marking the period when the industry’s best promotions and rates for the year are available.

In conjunction with this period, Flight Centre has launched its first ever cruise brand campaign “Let’s Set Sail” specifically aimed to assist their clients with taking advantage of the significant discounts and incentives available.

Flight Centre Cruise Team Leader Dilnavaz Kayani, said: “With so many choices in terms of different cruise lines, itineraries and promotions, the amount of time and money we’re able to save clients is substantial particularly when it comes to transparency around cruise fares.”

Kayani added: “We also have access to updated information on multiple evolving policies with respect to gratuities, visa requirements, COVID-19 protocols, dress codes, and shore excursions.”

With more than 60% of cruises booked through travel agents, Flight Centre is well positioned to tap into the high demand for cruises by leveraging its global industry partnerships and using its team of experienced agents to assist clients with every aspect of their travel needs including flights, pre & post hotels, private transfers, and shore excursions.

Natalie Papoutsoglou, Manager, National Accounts for Princess Cruises, said that:  “Flight Centre has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to the cruise industry sector through its wealth of experience to assist travellers in understanding the array of options available with their cruise purchase.”

And Papoutsoglou added: “The value they provide by way of personalized advice from a knowledgeable and trusted source is a crucial component for the industry’s overall success.”

McLaren pointed out that: “With most major cruise lines reporting full or near full recovery versus pre-Pandemic levels, pent up demand from more than 2 years of restrictions and border closures is now definitively translating into bookings as consumer confidence soars. A cruise travel specialist will not only help you with the complexities of booking your entire trip, but you’ll also have the added peace of mind of assistance should you need it before, during or even after your holiday.”
