G Adventures Partners With Tokyo Tourism

G Adventures and Tokyo Tourism have launched a campaign to encourage Canadians to visit Tokyo and consider the city as a year-round holiday destination rather than a simple pit stop.

The multi-channel program launches Oct. 7 and runs through to November.

“Tokyo is a bucket list destination for so many people. It’s the largest city in the world and Tokyo’s culture, lights, architecture, food, cherry blossoms, and history attract travellers from all over the world, including many Canadians,” says Aizaz Sheikh, G Adventures’ Canadian marketing director. “In fact, sales of our Japan tours, many of which visit Tokyo, grew 15% in the last year.”

“As the host city for the 2020 Olympics and Paralympic Games, we are excited to launch this joint campaign with G Adventures, one of the most innovative industry leaders in Canada,” says Shin Kawai, director, Tokyo Tourism, Toronto representative office. “Rich in traditions and cutting edge innovations, Tokyo is one of the most unique and exciting cities for travellers who are looking for their own adventure. In Tokyo, whether you are in Shibuya or out in Okutama, you can literally find millions of neighbourhoods, each with its own unique history, lifestyle, charm, and of course, local delicacies.”

The campaign will be promoted through G Adventures’ newsletter and website, and amplified with online and social advertising.

To encourage bookings, agents’ clients can save 10% off select trips that visit Tokyo between Oct. 22 and Nov. 19.

To help increase the agent community’s knowledge of Tokyo, G Adventures and Tokyo Tourism will host a webinar on Oct. 17 at 2 p.m. EST. Visit https://gadventures.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_N3s8RGFSTmWPoODxkWR-iw.

G Adventures offers 12 tours that visit Tokyo across five travel styles.
