GET ALRIGHT WITH JAMAICA
Minister of tourism of Jamaica, the Hon. Dr. Wykeham McNeill paid his first official visit to Canada since being appointed in January 2012. The minister was accompanied by John Lynch, director of tourism for Jamaica and Paul Pennicook, chairman of JAMVAC on the visit, and the trio was in Toronto for a special dinner hosted by Philip Rose, head of the Jamaica Touist Board in Canada.
Minister McNeill was upbeat about the increasing arrival numbers from this country. The minister and his department are going full steam ahead to promote many additional attractions, that include swimming with the dolphins, zip lining and river rafting. The 90 Days of Summer is yet another product initiative to come and details are presently being worked on. Jamaica also has a new tag phrase — Get Alright.
During his Canadian visit, the minister had meetings with a number of the major Canadian tour operators, all of them extremely positive, plus he expects to have additional air lift from Canada and altogether hopes for a \”bumper season\” out of Canada.
And before leaving Canada, on his way to World Travel Market in London, Minister McNeill reminded Canadians to \”keep Jamaica on their lips\” … and Get Alright.
