Goway Marks Significant Growth In Maldives Product

Goway is reporting that it has marked significant growth in its Maldives travel product line during this period.

The operator has seen 75% growth in its passenger numbers on vacations to the Maldives compared to 2019, the last full year prior to the pandemic. This growth demonstrates Goway’s expertise in and continued commitment to providing idyllic retreats in sunny and warm destinations such as the Maldives.

The Maldives has been an ideal destination to visit since it reopened its borders to international travellers in July 2020.

Each resort is located on its own private island and offers intimacy and safety in a moment of uncertainty.

For much of the pandemic, the Maldives was the only destination in Asia open to international travellers, which added to its natural appeal as a luxury beach destination.

In March 2022, the Maldives eased its entry requirements even further, dropping testing for fully-vaccinated travellers.

Goway has partnered with The Maldives Tourism Board to capitalize on this growing interest and to become one of North America’s most trusted travel providers for vacations to the Maldives.

The tour operator has 25 dedicated Destination Specialists handling bookings to the Maldives. These specialists can customize everything from a luxury honeymoon escape to a multi-generational family vacation to a snorkelling and scuba diving adventure.

It also offers a wide range of budget options on vacations to the Maldives, as well as fully-customizable inclusion options. Goway can also customize a convenient city and beach combo tour that includes the Maldives. Travellers can stopover in world-class cities including Dubai, Doha, Singapore, Paris, and Istanbul before connecting to the Maldives for a week at the beach.

Moira Smith, VP of Africa & Asia, observed that: “The Maldives has been a huge success story for Goway over the past two years. For many months during the pandemic, the Maldives was the only Asian country open to international travellers and Goway made the most of it.”

Smith added: “We’re thrilled to see a 75% increase in demand for vacations to the Maldives and will continue to expand and promote the nation’s exceptional travel products to our diverse community of travellers.”
