Happy 100 HAC

Light the candles! Cut the cake! Let’s celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Hotel Association of Canada! And that’s exactly what the industry did last night to launch HAC’s annual conference in Toronto this week. What better way to celebrate its Centennial anniversary then with a champagne reception; a spectacular dinner hosted by comedians Colin Mocrie and wife, Debra McGrath; and the presentation of HAC’s annual Hall of Fame Awards recognizing its members accomplishments in the areas of Human Resources, Energy & Environment and Humanitarian contributions. On the conference side of things, today’s sessions (Tues., Feb. 5, 2013) will see Helen Marano, director of government and industry affairs for the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) offer a world view of tourism and where Canada fits in that world. Breakout sessions will look at OTAs, revenue management, market segments and lots more. HAC will also release the results of its annual travel intentions survey. Should be a great day! Now, let’s get some cake!
