Intrepid Helping Canadians Achieve Their Travel Resolutions

Intrepid Travel is challenging shoppers to spend their money on “experiences, not things” after the responsible travel company unveiled its Vacation Vending Machine in Toronto’s busiest shopping mall Tuesday.

The Intrepid Travel Vacation Vending Machine appears in the Cadillac Fairview Eaton Centre through Jan. 19 as part of a nation-wide campaign designed to help Canadians to achieve their 2018 travel resolutions.

Torontonians will not only be able to lock in their 2018 travel plans for just $1, they’ll also have the chance to win one of 12 Intrepid Travel trips, 60 Urban Adventures day tours and 2,000 vouchers for $100 OFF Intrepid Travel trips when they visit the vending machine. The event draws inspiration from around the world with a live DJ, an authentic Thai tuk tuk, and Moroccan poufs and tea.

Leigh Barnes, regional director of Intrepid Travel for North America said, “Most people start the new year with big goals, but it’s super easy to get distracted by the every day things you can spend money on. That’s why we’re trying to make it easy for travellers to do the things that really matter to them this year.

“At our core, Intrepid Travel is focused on immersive experiences around the globe. Now, we are bringing that immersive experience to Toronto. The reasoning behind our $1 deposit promotion is to allow travellers to secure their next adventure with only $1, and with the vending machine we are taking that $1 and giving people the chance to travel to the world’s most exciting places for free.”

For nearly 30 years, Intrepid Travel has been a leader in the adventure travel industry offering sustainable and socially conscious experiences in more than 130 countries on all seven continents.
