Intrepid Travel blends film and adventure at TIFF

Lights, camera, adventure!

Throughout the 50th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), Intrepid Travel is giving travellers the chance to go from seeing the world on screen to experiencing it for themselves in person by winning a trip for two to Morocco, Peru, Newfoundland or Greece.

As the presenting sponsor of the festival’s Midnight Madness program for the second consecutive year, the tour operator is again connecting the worlds of cinema and adventure by bringing back an immersive Intrepid Travel Box Office Pop-Up at David Pecaut Square.

“After the success of last year’s debut, returning to TIFF was an easy decision,” said Christian Wolters, president of Canada at Intrepid Travel. “We’re excited to be back in the thick of the action with the Intrepid Travel Box Office pop-up. It’s an invitation to festival goers to stop by, explore and connect.”

Running daily until September 14th, the pop-up blends the excitement of film with the transformative power of travel with trip giveaways; free, limited-edition Intrepid x TIFF 50 tote bags, designed by Toronto artist Tabban Solemani (while supplies last) and the opportunity to take part in an interactive quiz matching participants with their ideal Intrepid trip style.

“TIFF audiences are curious, bold and engaged, just like our travellers. This partnership is about more than brand visibility; it’s about forging connections with people who want to experience the world differently,” said Wolters.

TIFF’s Midnight Madness program showcases the best in action, fantasy, shock and horror cinema. This year’s lineup includes Normal, directed by Ben Wheatley and starring Bob Odenkirk; Dust Bunny, the highly anticipated feature debut of Bryan Fuller; and Takahide Hori’s imaginative stop-motion fantasy Junk World. The program opened with Matt Johnson’s comedy Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie and is set to close with Grace Glowicki’s macabre horror-comedy Dead Lover.

“Our goal is to meet people where culture is thriving — and Toronto, as one of our largest markets, is the perfect stage to inspire a new generation of Intrepid travellers,” Wolters added.
