LOT increases baggage allowance

LOT Polish Airlines has introduced “Piece Concept,”a new, (and increased) consolidated baggage carriage policy for all flights. The new regulations for checked and hand baggage will take effect May 1, a move which airline officials say “will considerably enhance the airline’s offer, rendering it even more attractive to passengers.”Business class travellers will see the introduction of an extra piece of baggage weighing up to 32 kg on long-haul routes. To date, LOT’s business class passengers were able to check in two items of baggage weighing up to 32 kg, free of charge, on long-distance routes and weighing up to 30 kg, irrespective of the number of items, on all other routes. In the case of short- and medium-haul routes, business class travellers will now be able to check in two items of baggage weighing up to 32 kg, which represents an increased allowance of 34 kg. Passengers flying economy class on these routes will now be able to take an additional 3 kg. Business class passengers will be able to travel with two items of hand baggage, weighing up to 9 kg per item, while the carry-on allowance for economy class passengers will be increased by 2 kg on all routes.
