MANULIFE FINANCIAL, ACTA TEAM UP

The Association of Canadian Travel Agencies (ACTA) has launched a new partnership with Manulife Financial designed to “ensure more Canadians have the travel insurance and advice they need to make informed travel decisions.” Under the new agreement, ACTA and Manulife will work closely on various travel industry initiatives delivered through the ACTA web site and its publications; together, they will also provide product training to as many as 2,000 ACTA member organizations.

\”This new partnership has clear benefits for our organizations, but most importantly, it will result in improved resources for the millions of Canadians who travel each year,\” says Rob Iafrate, assistant vice-president of Travel Insurance with Manulife\’s Affinity Markets Division. \”Our collaboration will ensure that quality travel insurance advice and information is provided to more Canadians, in more ways, so that they can minimize the potential financial risks of travelling.\”

ACTA president David McCaig, commented, \”Our partnership is extremely important as vacationing trends are becoming more sophisticated and Canadian travelers need to be protected without confusion, misinterpretation or doubt. Manulife is both a leader in, and key supporter of, the travel insurance industry, so we are very pleased that they are now the travel insurance provider of choice for ACTA travel agencies and their customers.\”

Manulife will also provide ACTA travel agents extensive training programs on its products and services so that agents can equip clients with personalized travel insurance plans that best meet their individual needs. \”It is critical for our members to have access to relevant content and education,\” added McCaig. \”With the new partnership with Manulife, our members have the opportunity to be well positioned to offer clients peace of mind when travelling.\”
