Meet ONVIGO: A host agency model with some new twists

There’s a new Canadian owned and operated host agency in Canada.

ONVIGO officially launched this week and it’s designed for those who are new to the industry as well as for experienced travel advisors who are looking to take their business up a notch.

Backed by Voyzant, ONVIGO offers some interesting new twists to the host agency model. It will be focused on personalized support, but that support comes with a strong commitment to inclusivity, and an aim to play a key role in rebuilding the travel industry’s pool of talent.

“At ONVIGO, we believe that there has never been a better time to join the travel industry,” said Shean Carmichael, director of host agency operations at ONVIGO.

A welcoming community

Pointing to the ‘unprecedented challenges’ the industry faced during the pandemic, ONVIGO said that its goal is “to be at the forefront of the industry’s revival by creating a community that welcomes and embraces travel professionals from all backgrounds and experience.”

“We are passionate about supporting travel advisors every step of the way, whether they are just starting out or looking to take their business to the next level,” Carmichael said. “Our personalized approach ensures that each agent receives the assistance they need to achieve their goals.”

No barriers or fees

To do that, ONVIGO plans to redefine the landscape for independent travel advisors, by offering them a ‘no-barriers, no-fees’ approach and providing them with dedicated support, comprehensive training, and cutting-edge technology.

The ONVIGO support team streamlines administrative tasks such as invoicing and commission chasing, so advisors can dedicate themselves to providing the best customer service, journey crafting and design, and fostering their professional development.

“This model is an exciting, transformative endeavour that will redefine the possibilities of success in the travel industry,” Carmichael said.

And clearly, ONVIGO’s model is drawing interest as the new host agency group reports that it currently has around 100 members – the majority of them being new entrants to the industry.

“From my personal experience, I believe that success is not a solo endeavour, but a collaborative effort rooted in support and community,” Carmichael said. “By putting agents first, embracing feedback, and championing diversity and inclusivity, we pave the way for every individual, regardless of background or experience, to flourish in this dynamic field.”

He concluded: “At ONVIGO, we are more than just a host agency — we are a community committed to your success.”
