More help for travellers
The federal government has launched a new web site for Canadian travellers. The Honourable Diane Ablonczy, Minister of State of Foreign Affairs (Americas and Consular Affairs) unveiled the newly revamped http://www.Travel.gc.ca web site last week, billing it as Canada’s official “one-stop shop” for international travel information. Travel.gc.ca is a single thematic web site that integrates regularly updated content and resources from 12 government partners to help Canadians travelling and living abroad find the information they need to make informed decisions about international travel. Canadians can also access the latest travel advice, crisis updates and emergency contact information wherever they may be through Travel.gc.ca’s Twitter, Facebook, RSS feeds and e-mail updates. Travel.gc.ca’s new mobile application, Travel Smart allows Canadians anywhere in the world to access Canadian government information and services on international travel. Travel.gc.ca is managed by Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada in collaboration with the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority, the Canada Border Services Agency, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, the Canada Revenue Agency, Citizenship and Immigration Canada, Environment Canada, Health Canada, Passport Canada, the Public Health Agency of Canada, Public Safety Canada and Transport Canada.
