NCL Presents A ‘Week Of You’ For Agents

Norwegian Cruise Line will hold a Dec. 7-11 series of virtual events that it’s confident will enable travel agents to become healthier, wealthier and wiser when it comes to boosting business.

Wednesday saw the company detail Week of You, a free reach-out to agents that NCL says will provide professional and personal support for agents as they ready for “the industry’s highly anticipated comeback” during an “unprecedented time.”

“This is one of the most meaningful initiatives we’ve ever done at NCL,” said Katina Athanasiou, the company’s chief sales officer.

Week of You will feature the likes of authors, NCL officials and business leaders offering agents insights on topics that range from healthy living to increasing revenues, with, for instance, Dec. 8 seeing a presentation called Converting Social Networks Into Sales. That same day also sees Reimagining Recipes and Healthy Snacking, which will have NCL chef Michael Koertgen providing “quick and easy recipes for the family,” as well as tips on creating “delicious and healthy snacks that you won’t regret keeping at your desk.”

The following day includes Setting Yourself Up for Success! Home Office Makeover with design guru Bobby Berk, a member of Netflix’s Fab Five. He’ll offer guidance on converting “your home office from drab to fab on a budget.”

Presentations on Dec. 10 include A Toast to You! Selecting The Best Wine for the Holidays with wine expert Michael Mondavi featured.

“We’re really pulling out all the stops for our partners to succeed…,” Athanasiou said. “We really want to help be the best partners to our travel advisors.”

Besides the lifestyle and educational workshops, NCL will host dedicated sessions where travel partners will have the opportunity to engage with NCL executives and sales representatives to prepare them for the brand’s upcoming return to operation. Discussions will focus on the likes of group sales, upcoming promotions, and highlighted itineraries. Advisors are invited to sign up to attend the Metro Meeting that accommodates their region and time zone and best serves their business goals and clients’ needs.

With new content made available daily, agents are encouraged to review each lifestyle and educational workshop completed for a chance to win a commemorative gift. As well, for every session attended, participants will be entered into a drawing for a seven-day cruise. The more sessions they participate in, the greater their chances to win one if the multiple cruises offered.

“2020 has been a challenging year for our travel partner community and we are celebrating them like never before with the launch of ‘Week of You’,” said Athanasiou. “Fueled by the spirit of our Partners First philosophy, which places a special focus on our travel advisors, we understand that in order for us to be at our best, our travel partners have to be at their best, which is why we’re rolling out programming that’s intended to reinvigorate, refocus and reenergize them in a holistic way.”

Week of You will end with a performance from the Tony Award-winning production Million Dollar Quartet. The special rendition of Million Dollar Quartet reunites the cast for the first time in months to deliver a performance exclusively for Week of You participants.

Meanwhile, NCL’s Cruise First initiative offers consumers vouchers that can be used toward future cruises. The vouchers cost $150 but are actually valued at $300 and those who buy them have three years to use them. Each customer can buy up to 10 and agents who sell them get gift certificates valued at $50.
