North Lake Tahoe Picks Canuckiwi In Canada

North Lake Tahoe has picked Canuckiwi Consulting to lead its destination marketing in Canada and inspire Canadians to “go Tahoe North” through creative consumer marketing, travel trade, media relations, social media and ski partnerships.

Andy Chapman, President and CEO, Travel North Tahoe Nevada, said: “North Lake Tahoe is a place where Nevada and California meet, and winter and summer collide.”

Chapman continued: “Canadians understand and appreciate the differentiation between seasons better than anyone and we look forward to welcoming our Northern neighbours to ski in winter, enjoy dual sport days in spring and fall, and recreate responsibly in summer on the crystal blue waters of the largest alpine lake in North America.”

Corey Marshall, Principal, Canuckiwi Consulting, said that: “Canuckiwi specializes in representing top U.S. destinations so partnering with this renowned outdoor playground is a natural fit.”

Marshall pointed out that: “North Lake Tahoe is home to the largest concentration of ski resorts in North America, including Palisades Tahoe (IKON pass) and Northstar California (EPIC pass), providing Canadian skiers with incredible choice.”

Tony Karwowski, CEO, North Tahoe Community Alliance, pointed out that: “From the data we’ve been tracking, the Canadian traveller trends are in line with our organizational pillars of community vitality, economic health, and environmental stewardship,”

Canadians have multiple gateways through which to access North Lake Tahoe, which is only 45 minutes from the Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) in Nevada. Travelling to the area through Sacramento (SMF), San Francisco (SFO) or San Jose, CA (SJC) allows visitors to experience a mix of California’s cities, coastline and wine country before heading up to the Sierra Nevada.

Highlights of the 2023 winter season include the opening of the Palisades Tahoe base-to-base gondola which kicked off the ski season Dec. 17; Ski World Cup (men’s slalom and giant slalom) from Feb. 24 to Feb. 26, one of only four U.S. resorts featured on the World Cup circuit this year; and the annual WinterWonderGrass festival from March 31 to April 2.
