On The Road At IPW 2015

Orlando Gets Creative In Welcoming International Event

“A lot of creative assets and capital investment has made Orlando as attractive a destination as it has ever been.”

That was the proud boast from George Aguel, CEO of Visit Orlando, alluding to the five-year-gap between now and the last time the city hosted the huge IPW trade show, reports Press Today’s Mike Dunbar.

Aguel told a Sunday-morning kick-off event that Orlando was the first US destination ever to record 60 million arrivals in one year; upping that figure to 62 million last year.

Visit Orlando chairman Peter Kacheris added, “As a destination, our true mission is to deliver truly emotional experiences that last a lifetime.”

And Aguel followed on by revealing that Orlando will soon be mounting a worldwide social media campaign to gather “incredible stories and pictures” from visitors who wish to share their vacation memories of Orlando.

Seen at the opening ceremonies at IPW 2015 in Orlando, from l to r, are Adrian Jones, general manager, Legoland Florida; Peter Kacheris, chairman of the Board of Directors, Visit Orlando; Teresa Jacobs, Mayor of Orange County; Roger Dow, president & CEO, USTA; and George Aguilar, president & CEO, Visit Orlando.
