Ontario Place Opens New Skate Park, Basketball Courts

As the summer continues to heat up, Toronto’s Ontario Place ha unveiled several new programs and activities to its roster.

A new recreational space in the East Commons is available for visitors to enjoy and includes a skatepark, three FIBA-sized basketball courts and two half courts, a bocce court, table tennis tables, a big sandbox, giant chess, Imagination Playground for the kids and a new lower patio for people to relax.

All activities and ball rentals are free and available daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

CJ’s SKATEPARK staff will be onsite every Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. offering a series of specialized classes including introductory group lessons, girls-only lessons, private lessons and free skateboard servicing clinics and mini skills competition.

In addition to the new recreational area, Ontario Place has launched an Art in the Park class series led by Art Tonite. The series includes family friendly afternoon classes on weekends and adult classes on Wednesday and Saturday evenings at the Vista Eatery.
