On Aug. 8, Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel was applauded by Toronto Hydro for its ongoing proactive energy management and conservation efforts. As such, Toronto Hydro bestowed the hotel with a new designation – Customer for Conversation. Late last year, the hotel completed a $13 million project that replaced all the windows and caulking in the 43-storey Queen Tower, and 11-storey Richmond Tower hotel. These conservation resulted in a total of 725,149 kWh of annual electricity savings based on saveONenergyOM program verifications. This is equivalent to saving approximately 2,287 trees. Additionally, the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel received a cheque from Toronto Hydro in the amount of $160,590.90. This amount was based on incentives offered by saveONenergyOM for implementation of proactive energy management and conversation projects.
